The company will operate twice daily flights using a new Cessna Grand Caravan 12-seater aircraft covering the distance in one hour from January 25. One-way tickets are priced at 10,000 rupees and return tickets at 19,100 rupees which includes a 15 kilo baggage allowance per individual, a statement said. The excess baggage charges are 150 rupees a kilo."ExpoAir will operate a special shuttle service to and from the Palaly airport to the Jaffna town,"


ExpoAir had operated domestic flights since 1997 and began scheduled daily passenger flights to Jaffna in June 2002 after a peace accord temporarily halted the Tamil Tiger separatist war. "The airline constantly kept upgrading its aircraft and operated 3-4 flights daily with two 52-seater Fokker F-27-500 aircraft," the statement said.


ExpoAir temporarily suspended its domestic operation in 2010 after the end of the war in May 2009 allowed travellers to travel to Jaffna by road.
ExpoAir is also licensed for international cargo operations by the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Its aircraft fleet includes an IL-18, AN-12 and a DC-8 for cargo transportation.
