Batticallo Get Airport

Sri lankan Eastern Provice District Batticaloa get Domestic Airport facility, Modernization work estimated at a cost of Rs 800 million was launched on the direction of the President with the involvement of the Treasury and the Civil Aviation Ministry. Construction work will be carried out in two phases.

First phase
A new terminal building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 19.3 million. Construction of the first phase, scheduled to be completed by January next year.

The second phase
Involves the construction of the extension and overlaying of the runway. An apron will also be constructed.
The runway will be extended by 1,500 metres and widened by 46 metres. Rs 587 million has been allocated for the construction. It is scheduled to be completed by April next year.

Among them are the access road network, infrastructure development, etc in line with the Batticaloa Inland Airport development project.
